Diversity is the cornerstone on which we build our winemaking philosophy.
Meet the Winemaker
Winemaker Trizanne Barnard learned some of the most important lessons in winemaking on her surfboard. “I feel that the ocean recharges me, and teaches me patience and respect for nature,” she says about her favourite activity outside of the world of wine.
After graduating, Trizanne worked multiple vintages in Australia, France, and Portugal before joining the winemaking team at Klein Constantia. Four years later, she started her own label.
“The hardest part is that you only get one go at it,” she says. “But then the most rewarding aspect is when you get your ‘one go’ right and you produce a wine that people truly enjoy.”
When asked what life without wine would be like, she answers: “A night without stars…the stars just make it so much brighter and more beautiful and engaging.”
About the Winery
Trizanne Signature Wines has been producing varied wines of great quality in the coastal town of Noordhoek since 2008.
While winemaker Trizanne Barnard uses grapes from the cooler temperature vineyards of Elim to create fresh and contrasting bottles of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, she prefers using grapes grown in the dry, warm summers of the Swartland to produce concentrated red wines.
Sourcing and selecting vineyard parcels from these contrasting regions, and pairing them with the most suitable varieties have resulted in Trizanne Signature Wines’ four very distinct wines – an embodiment of a winemaking philosophy that is built on diversity and a search for unique perspectives.
