Meet the Winemaker
With Peter Finlayson directing as cellar master, these days the wines of Bouchard Finlayson are produced by Chris Albrecht.
After completing his degree in Oenology and Viticulture at Stellenbosch University, Chris gained practical experience around the globe, from California to New Zealand, France to South Africa. His MCC Blanc DE Blanc was awarded with five stars from Platter’s in 2008, 2009, and 2011.
Over the past five years, he has become an integral part of the wine team at Bouchard Finlayson, complimenting Peter to form a balanced team.
About the Winery
Established in 1989, Bouchard Finlayson embraces its motto, driven by excellence, by producing slow-ripened, flavour-rich wines of exceptional quality in the Heaven-and-Earth Valley.
Local winemaker Peter Finlayson and Burgundian winemaker Paul Bouchard joined forces in creating the winery, resulting in wines that are the perfect blend between old and new world. Today, the estate is owned by the Tollman family, and run by Victoria Tollman and Peter Finlayson.
The winery is known globally for making exceptional Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blancs, as well as the best Pinot Noir in South Africa.
